Slimer's Blues

FULLVIEW PLEASE!

Woohoo my first painting in...wow, too long to remember!

Crossover pics are always fun because they provide a great 'what if' scenario. In "The Blues Brothers", Jake and Elwood visit a soul food cafe on their search for Matt 'Guitar' Murphy. While there, Jake orders four fried chickens and a Coke. Elwood orders toast. While they never actually receive the meal, this created some of the most memorable lines in the movie.

If you've ever watched either of the "Ghostbusters" movies or followed the cartoon, you're sure to remember at least one ghost. Chances are, it would be Slimer, the 'ugly little spud' with the voracious appetite. Naturally, he would love to eat the fried chickens and toast, and probably do it in one gulp.

So, what if Jake and Elwood had received their food and Slimer came along and stole it? Probably call the Ghostbusters and specifically request Ray Stantz. Get it?! Hahahahahaha!!!! I shouldn't have to explain that one!
*coughdanaykroydcough*

Yeah, yeah I could also add to the 'impossible' factor because the BBs are in Illinois and the GBs are based out of NYC, etc. But that's what makes crossovers so fun! Just don't cross the streams! Wait... was that necessary?

About the actual painting, I prefer acrylic to watercolor but wanted to give myself a little challenge. Plus, it adds variety to the ol' gallery. For the watercolor purists, yes I used india ink for the line art. Also, the original was too big for my scanner, so it was 'Frankensteined' together in Photoshop. Other than that, there have been no alterations to the original. The title is a parody of 'Smuggler's Blues' by Glenn Frey.
